During the Presidential Debates, we are presented with tons of statistics, interpretations, assumptions, political rhetoric, appeal to emotion, and spin. There is also no shortage of political ads, pundits, and analysts that try to sway the opinion of potential voters.

Grant Thornton survey, 55% of overall respondents indicated that lack of soft skills — communication, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities — posed the most significant challenge in recruiting seasoned accounting professionals. The report said today’s accountants need better soft skills and critical thinking to relate accounting rules to real-world scenarios and apply good judgment to ensure the appropriate application of accounting principles.
